Monday Childhood Loves...On Tuesday Again!

So I found a small pic of my Lady Lovely Locks castle that I was telling you all about last week! I didn't even remember that I had a matching nightgown...dang four year old me rocks! Look at those heart shaped sunnies and my lip gloss watch!

This week I want to tell you about my Rainbow Brite collection! Baby Brite was and still is my fave of all of the gals, maybe it's her pink hair and romper...she's a girl after my own heart! Like the Lady Lovly Locks collection I pretty much had and actually STILL have all of these dolls.

I have Rainbow Brite, Shy Violet, Patty O'Green, Baby Brite, Puppy Brite, Starlite (her horse) a smaller version of Red Butler and Lala Orange. I want to show you pics of my collection but having the mister drag them down from the attic only for pics seems a little mean! If and when I have a little lady of my own they will definitely be making a debut!

Gosh I was IN LOVE with those cartoons, I remember going to the video rental store and actually renting a VCR and the tapes and watching them for hours! Do you remember when you could rent the VCR and having one was a luxury?

Monday Childhood Loves...On Tuesday!

Lady Lovely Locks!!

I will never forget my fourth Christmas, that year we were living with my Mee Maw and Paw Paw and that morning when I walked into the den all set up on the coffee table was this masterpiece...

The ENTIRE Lady Lovely Locks castle complete with the following dolls, her horse and her pup!

The Lady Lovely Locks, pictured right. I always enjoyed watching her movies...I would have my mom clip the little pixies with colored tails in my hair so I could look just like her.

This is Princess Curly Crown, being the straight haired gal that I am I was pretty ruthless brushing out her hair.

and last but not least Lady Lovely Locks BFF Silky Mane! Can you picture this whole set up and how amazing it was to four year old me? Just a little over a year ago I finally said goodbye to my Lady Lovely Locks. My mom had just moved down to Corpus and brought with her all of the things from my childhood that we had held on to and I had to make the tough decision of what would stay and go. I believe that she was one of the ones that went... after this post I wish I had her back. At the time I had no idea that I would have a craft room where I would be free to display all of my childhood loves...oh well...

Did you know who Lady Lovely Locks was...if so did you have this set up too?

Monday Childhood Loves...

My bigwheel, like loved so much I kept riding it well after all of the stickers had worn off, the basket had been lost and maybe until I was 10 years old. (don't judge me!)

This was EXACTLY what my bigwheel looked like...complete with basket for taking my sweet cabbage patch kid along for the ride.

(is the little girl inside you jealous? well she should be *wink*)

Do you remember how awful the traction was on these things? Trying to get started on your journey two driveways over and just spinning out four or five times going no where. Then the neighbor kids come whizzing by on their POWER WHEELS making your four year old self feel so LAME!

Whatever, I loved my cabbage patch kid bigwheel anyway...lazies with their motorized toys...probably could have used the workout a bigwheel brought.

Ok, I'm gonna get off my high horse now.

I need to go look for some pics of me and my second set of wheels... I hope I have a few. Did you have a bigwheel? If so what kind of theme did it have? I vaguely remember there were all kinds, barbie, transformers, ect...

Monday Childhood Loves...

So I think I'm going to start a new feature where I reminisce on some of my fondest childhood memories and toys...what do ya think? I still have a lot of my childhood toys that I am saving for a future little one so why not feature them. They are vintage now anyway...scary!

When I was in Kindergarten around six years old I LOVED my Fashion Plates!

I remember very clearly attending a birthday party of a classmate and her receiving Fashion Plates and I was mesmerized...thankfully my mom grew tired of me talking about them and gifted me with some of my very own!

I was very matchy matchy at the time and don't really recall mixing it up too much... if it looked as though it were supposed to go together that's where I put it. I had the Barbie version with her classic HUGE Barbie 90's hair, oh how I loved that toy. Instead of coloring the outfits I remember creating the same rub over and over again to see how perfect I could get the outline...can we say OCD much?

Did you have Fashion Plates? If so what kind of memories do you hold of this treasure??
